What I Do

Creating has always been my favorite kind of magic — taking a blank space and turning it into something alive and full of personality. I love drawing characters, shaping their quirks, and watching their stories unfold with each line and color. There’s a special joy in giving life to these wild, fun ideas and seeing where their worlds take me.

Whether it’s a quick sketch or a full illustration, I pour a bit of myself into every character. At the heart of it all, I just want to make people smile, feel something, and maybe see the world a little differently through my art.

Why I Do It

I create because it’s pure joy — There’s nothing quite like watching a sketch turn into a character with a spark of life and a personality all their own. I do it because it makes me happy — and if my art can spread that same joy or a spark of wonder to someone else, then that’s the best kind of magic there is.

Every new idea feels like an adventure — I never know where it’ll lead, and that’s what I love most. Some characters arrive fully formed, while others slowly reveal themselves as I sketch and explore. It’s a process full of surprises, happy accidents, and creative detours.

Visual Development

⚫️ ⬛️

When I start developing a character, it all begins with the simplest shapes — a circle, a square, maybe a triangle. A circle might grow into a soft, friendly character, while a square feels solid, strong, and dependable. Triangles can bring energy, mischief, or just a little bit of chaos. From these shapes, I start to explore personality, movement, and attitude — even before any details appear. It’s such a fun process watching something so simple become a character with quirks, emotions, and story. Every line I add builds on that original shape, giving them depth and life. And no matter how complex they get, it always comes back to that first spark, that humble circle, square, or triangle that started it all.

"My favorite part of creating characters is when they start making their own decisions — that’s when I know they’re real." — Kai Renn, Story Artist
